The 71M6533-IGT/F is a three-phase energy metering system-on-chip (SoC) from Maxim Integrated (now part of ADI), belonging to the Teridian™ product series. It is built on Single Converter Technology®, integrating a 22-bit delta-sigma ADC and a 32-bit computing engine, with 128KB of Flash memory and 4KB of RAM. Boasting a 0.2-class measurement accuracy, it is ideally suited for three-phase energy metering scenarios. Its core application fields are detailed below:

Core Application Fields

  1. Three-Phase Smart Electricity Meters
    • Industrial/Commercial Meters: Designed for three-phase power consumption scenarios such as factories and office buildings, it measures active, reactive, and apparent energy. Compliant with ANSI/IEC standards and meeting the 0.2-class high-precision metering requirements, it supports remote meter reading and encrypted data transmission.
    • Multi-Function Meters: Integrated with SPI interfaces and power management (sleep current <1μA), it enables time-of-use tariffing, harmonic analysis, overload protection, and other functions, catering to the construction needs of smart grids.
    • Prepaid Meters: Combined with Flash storage and low-power design, it supports prepaid functions, suitable for centralized power management scenarios such as property management and industrial parks.
  2. Energy Monitoring & Management Systems
    • Industrial Energy Monitoring: Used for three-phase power parameter monitoring in production lines and workshops, it collects real-time data on voltage, current, power, etc., facilitating energy consumption analysis and energy-saving optimization.
    • Data Center Power Monitoring: Monitors the three-phase power supply quality of UPS and power distribution cabinets, providing timely early warnings for voltage fluctuations, overloads, and other faults to ensure stable power supply.
    • Building Energy Management: Realizes centralized collection and remote management of three-phase power consumption data in buildings through RS-485, Ethernet, and other interfaces, reducing operation and maintenance costs.
  3. Industrial Automation & Control
    • Motor Control & Drives: Monitors the three-phase current/voltage of motor operation, enabling overload and phase-loss protection, and is suitable for energy efficiency optimization of equipment such as fans and water pumps.
    • Frequency Converters & UPS Systems: Integrated with analog inputs and a computing engine, it achieves power conversion efficiency monitoring and power quality analysis, improving the operational reliability of equipment.
    • Industrial Gateways & Edge Computing: Converts three-phase power consumption data into industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus) and uploads it to cloud platforms, supporting the deployment of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
  4. Power Infrastructure & New Energy
    • Photovoltaic/Energy Storage Systems: Monitors the output energy of three-phase inverters, calculates power generation efficiency, and supports charge-discharge management and grid interaction of energy storage systems.
    • Charging Pile Metering: Used in three-phase electric vehicle charging piles, it realizes accurate metering of charging energy and fee settlement, adapting to the high dynamic measurement requirements of fast-charging scenarios.
    • Distribution Network Monitoring Terminals: Installed at distribution network nodes, it monitors three-phase parameters of lines, identifies faults and power losses, and improves the operational efficiency of power grids.

Application Advantages

  • High-Precision Metering: Equipped with a 22-bit ADC and digital temperature compensation, it ensures metering accuracy within a wide temperature range (-40°C~85°C), meeting the industrial-grade 0.2-class standard.
  • Low Power Consumption & High Integration: Built-in power management reduces external components and lowers BOM costs, making it suitable for battery-powered and long-term operation monitoring devices.

  • Flexible Expansion: 128KB Flash supports field programming, adapting to function upgrades and protocol updates, and shortening product development cycles.
